It's around the corner!........ Riders up!

The sound of hooves pounding on the turf… the sight of colorful silks soaring over 17 timber jumps. If you’re looking for a fun-filled way to spend the day outdoors then come out and enjoy the thrilling sport of steeplechase racing at the 69th running of Brandywine Hills Point-to-Point on Sunday, April 3, 2011. The racing and family oriented festivities take place on the rolling countryside of the Brandywine Valley Association’s 318-acre Myrick Conservation Center on Route 842 approximately six miles west of West Chester and three miles east of Unionville.


The oldest steeplechase racing event in the Delaware Valley, at the Brandywine Hills Point-to-Point, old friendships are renewed and news ones are created. Spirited horses and skilled riders navigate a challenging 3-mile course that features 17 jumps. The first race begins at 12:00 with eight races to follow. Race divisions include: Small and Large Pony, Leadline Pony Race, Heavyweight, Novice, Open, and Foxhunter’s.

Radnor Hunt Club is once again the presenting sponsor. Sponsors include Capital & Security Management, Chester County Properties, 1N Bank, Fat Chance Farm, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, Simpers Agency, Swope Lees Commercial Real Estate, The Whip Tavern, and William Wood Co. Realtors. More than a dozen items will be raffled off, including Devon Horse Show tickets, 1 week stay at an estate in Ireland, 2011 Phillies tickets, restaurant gift certificates, original paintings and much more.

All proceeds from the Point-to-Point help the Brandywine Valley Association fulfill its mission of promoting and preserving the natural resources of the Brandywine Valley. The Brandywine watershed covers approximately 325 square miles of land and water in southeastern Pennsylvania and northern Delaware.

Over the past decade the Point-to-Point has raised more than $200,000 for the Brandywine Valley Association.
